The Divisional Playoffs, And How They Will Ultimately Depress Me
Because I am terrible at game predictions, I’m going to do three for each game. This way, I’ll be wrong twelve times instead of four.
Seattle @ Green Bay –
What I Think Will Happen: Green Bay will rely on Ryan Grant offensively and shut down Shaun Alexander defensively and roll to an easy win.
What I Hope Will Happen: We want the ball and we’re going to score, part II, starring Charles Woodson.
What, Then, Will Likely Happen: Favre decides to just throw every pass up for grabs, because, why the hell not? It’s not like that’s the one thing that could go wrong.
Jacksonville @ New England –
What I Think Will Happen: Jacksonville will challenge New England, but the Patriots will persevere in the end.
What I Hope Will Happen: The Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Tayor tandem keep Brady and co. off the field and wear down the aged Patriots linebacking corps.
What, Then, Will Likely Happen: The Patriots clinch the win halfway through the second quarter. I will be seated next to an insufferable New Englander at the bar.
San Diego @ Indianapolis –
What I Think Will Happen: Philip Rivers blows it.
What I Hope Will Happen: Philip Rivers blows it.
What, Then, Will Likely Happen: Philip Rivers blows it. (Sometimes, there’s a happy ending.)
New York @ Dallas –
What I Think Will Happen: The Cowboys start sluggish, and stage a comeback that falls just short.
What I Hope Will Happen: Giants 49 - Cowboys 0; Jessica Simpson dumps Romo for me.
What, Then, Will Likely Happen: Cowboys 49 - Giants 0; I remain alone.

I think the Packers/Seahawks game will come down to a Josh Brown field goal– setting off a fashion trend of heated pants.
