My Grandpa Would Make them Play with Broomsticks
In a move that will someday surely lead to a presidential nomination, current New York mayor Michael Bloomberg says he’ll veto a bill banning metal bats from New York high school baseball. It just wouldn’t be spring for Mayor Bloomberg without that ping of the bat. (Actually, he just thinks that it’s not “the city’s business to regulate that.” I know, weird, since when does the New York City not regulate every little thing in that city?)
Apparently the city council has enough votes to override. If you thought that this wasn’t getting ludicrous enough, sporting goods companies are planning on taking the matter to court. Hey Easton, you know what other company has a deadly product that’s banned in New York and consistently finds itself involved with legal proceedings? Yeah, big tobacco. Just a fair warning.
