LeBron Passes

by Albert Bianchi on May 22nd, 2007

lebronshrug.jpgThis is how it could have been. It could have been LeBron James, with the triple-double, leading the Cavaliers to a game 1 win. It could have been stories about a complete game. About how when his shot wasn’t falling, LeBron could still make plays. After all, when he entered the league, it was his vision as well as hops that made him so intriguing. He was Jordan AND Magic. For LeBron James, that’s how it should have been. If Donyell Marshall hits an open three, that’s how it would have been. He didn’t. LeBron finished with nine assists instead of ten, a triple-double became a 10 point outing. A win became a loss. LeBron could have been the hero, in the mode of the new NBA, the pass to the open teammate could have been a seminal moment. Instead, Marshall missed.

Instead, the fabricated concerns rise up again. Why didn’t LeBron James shoot? Is he afraid to have the ball in the clutch? Why isn’t he the perfect basketball player yet? Why were we lied to? They are reactionary questions, with little validity. But they get asked, because LeBron didn’t shoot the ball.

1 opinion for LeBron Passes

I think the questions about his decision to pass that ball are completely valid. He had his defenders beat and had a higher percentage shot or a chance to get fouled and tie the game. He blew that play and as the main scorer on a team that needed two points, he choked.
