EPL Saturday: Welcome Back, Wayne…Welcome Back.

Bolton 0 - Manchester United 4: The return of the Roo occurred in this match with Wayne Rooney notching a hat trick after a 10-game scoreless streak. It was quite the thrashing of the Wanderers who were completely outclassed by United. Cristiano Ronaldo, the notorious diver, scored the other goal as United stays atop the Premiership standings edging Chelsea only on goal differential.
Sheffield United 0 - Chelsea 2: Third choice keeper Hilario kept a clean sheet for the Blues with a great penalty kick save. Frank Lampard scored a goal and assisted on Michael Ballack’s header.
Arsenal 1 - Everton 1: Arsenal’s red-hot streak suffered a cooldown, slightly, with a draw against Everton today. Robin Van Persie notched the tying goal for Arsenal and Tim Cahill opened the scoring for Everton. Apparently, Everton goal keeper, American Tim Howard, had a stunning day, which figures since I sat him on my fantasy soccer team because he was facing a red-hot Arsenal. Stupid me.
Liverpool 3 - Aston Villa 1: Manager Rafael Benitez looked to silence critics in this match and may have done so, at least for a little while. But, this performance is ‘Pool’s form…playing well at home in Anfield and poor play away. Lets see if this is the turning of the corner on the Reds otherwise disappointing season.
Portsmouth 3 - Reading 1: Reading’s wonderstart to the Premiership season has slowly come back to earth after a defeat at the hands of Pompey.
Fulham 0 - Wigan 1: Wigan earned its first away victory this season.
Watford 0 - Tottenham 0: Aaron Lennon was lively in this scoreless draw and appears to have returned to form after his injury layoff.
Newcastle 0 - Charlton 0: Meh.
